Neckbone’s Fugazi Shirt
Filed under: Film, Mud, Jacob Lofland, Neckbone
I finally saw Mud, I really liked it. One of the first things I noticed in the film, since it’s like second nature to me, was the Fugazi t-shirt that Neckbone (Jacob Lofland) was wearing in the beginning of the film. Other than having an awesome name, the kid had some good taste in music for a 14 year old.
I’m a big fan of Fugazi so I immediately tried to source the t-shirt. One of the first things I saw when searching Google was a 2013 article in The Washington City Paper that had an interview with the director, Jeff Nichols. He said in the interview that he was a huge Fugazi fan growing up and wrote the t-shirt into the script only to later find out that Fugazi t-shirts were never made! I guess I wasn’t that big of a Fugazi fan because I had no idea they didn’t produce t-shirts, but for some reason that makes me like them even more.
The producers and director ended up finding a fan made Fugazi t-shirt online and using that, so that means this shirt exists somewhere for sale, but at the current moment I have no idea where. This was the best looking Fugazi shirt I could find online.UNAVAILABLE
